Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are young, eager learners. They are all working toward learning a second language, and the amount of brain development they experience while learning a second language is tremendous. We spend our days in our classroom making connections and growing dendrites that will boost us forward in our educational career.
The school where I am privileged to teach is a hidden gem in our city.
Our community is not rich in finances, but it is rich in spirit and values. Most of my students come from humble homes with hardworking parents who give their all for their children. Our school is a second home for our students as well as for our teachers.
My Project
The supplies we are requesting will be used for daily storytime and numerous other activities. The play doh will be used to strengthen our finger muscles for the fine motor skills required for writing. The folders and bags will protect our work. The small prizes for reading incentives will encourage daily reading habits at home, and the stamps will encourage good work habits. The printer ink, cardstock, laminating pouches will be used to create several activities to enhance our curriculum in all subject areas.
The constantly changing needs of my students drive my instruction and fuel the new activities they need to keep them engaged and involved in learning.
Classroom supplies also need to be replaced on a regular basis, as young learners are often rough on the activities I create for them.
