Supplies for an Effective and Productive Bilingual Classroom!
Help me give my students basic supplies for a smooth running classroom. We need field trip badges, printer cartridges, dry erase markers, charter paper and in order for our classroom to function successfully.
I teach a K-2 bilingual class in an urban school with 85% of the students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. All of my students are brand new to the United States. My students enter my classroom with little or no English. Many of them have never had a school experience in their native country. It is my job to prepare them for the regular education classroom.
My students are from 5 different countries, speaking 4 different languages.
My students are all eager and excited to learn.
My Project
My students deserve the basic supplies that are needed for a classroom to be productive and promote their education without worrying about the basic necessities.
Because we are a low-income school, we do not receive any extra help from the PTA and our budget for supplies is always extremely low.
We need printer cartridges for printing out our writing projects. We need badges for our field trips. We use expo markers on a daily basis with our whiteboards. Chart paper is also a daily necessity for group lessons. Having these types of consumables on hand will eliminate the interruption of a lesson when supply has run out. We can continue on with learning with minimal distraction. Other basic supplies like binders, dividers, masking tape, post-its, mounting tabs are also a basic need in this classroom.
