I have kind, compassionate, diligent students who love to learn. Each and every student is unique with his/her own quirks and personalities. Most of my students come from similar backgrounds and have grown up in the heart of Chinatown.
They, together, make a great class where they encourage, inspire, and challenge each other to become a better learner.
We work as a community, to not only prepare ourselves for middle school, but to become an active and knowledgeable citizen in the future.
By discussing growth mindset from the beginning of the class, they were eager to tackle new obstacles to stretch their minds/brains.
My Project
The supplies and materials that are requested in this project have a purpose in mind. I have carefully selected materials that can better support my students' daily learning. Being in a Title I school, where school supplies are a luxury that not everyone can afford, it is critical to provide these tools so that students can focus on learning.
The organizational bins will help students to be more independent by allowing them to take and put away supplies on their own.
As students are entering third grade, a crucial transitional year, it is important to provide opportunities for independence. Having the supplies and materials well organized in the classroom, will allow the classroom to be set up in a way where autonomy is encouraged and practiced.
With these supplies and materials provided, students will be able to focus on the academic and social-emotional development.
