As a teacher in a low-income and high-poverty school, our students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, our students deserve exceptional learning opportunities and an extraordinary learning environment.
My students are creative, collaborative, and full of spirit.
They like to move. They love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of our classrooms, we focus on their potential and growth while they are with us.
My Project
Our class has been working on many different research, science, and social studies projects this school year. We are continuously creating reports on computers and printing pictures and final reports.
We need toner for our classroom printer so we can create fantastic presentations that we will share with our school community.
We go through printer ink very quickly and being able to print in color is an amazing privilege this project would afford us. These black and color ink cartridges will help us to create colorful presentations which will help students translate their research into full color reports to share with students, teachers, parents, and community members. The easel, paper pads, and markers are additional supplies that will allow us to release the potential of our projects. These materials will enable students to create vivid visual displays for our classroom. Please be our partner by helping us to realize the potential of this project!
