Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of 24-second-grade students who are eager to learn. We are based in the Silicon Valley in San Jose. As a Title I school, the majority of the students are English Language Learners and qualify for free or reduced-price lunch (87% of the school). These students have the drive to learn but do not always receive the home support and resources they need in order to be successful. My students deserve the best educational experience and a safe and supportive environment for their growth. Help us give these children everything they deserve!
My Project
Keeping materials neat and papers organized is one key to success. My students need folders to keep school work and homework separated and organized. One set of folders will be used at school; students will each get a folder to keep in their desk so that they can keep their papers together in one place. This gives them easy access to the assignment when it is needed and time isn't wasted searching for lost and crumpled papers inside of their desks. The other set of folders will be used as homework folders so that students know exactly what to take home and bring back the next day. The composition books will be used for reading group during literacy centers and will be kept separate from all other writing that is being done whole class. The blank space on top will be used for a work area and the dotted lines helps them practice their handwriting. The prizes are a great reward for positive behavior in the classroom.
