This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a wonderful group of fourth graders who love hands-on learning! We are a Title I Priority School in an urban community. The students in our school are considered economically disadvantaged and all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the many obstacles my young children face they are all committed to learning more every day. Many of the children have been in classes together since kindergarten, creating many interesting, sibling-like relationships. They both support and challenge each other every day.
My students come to school with the goal of learning more every day.
They love solving new problems during math. These children listen intently during read-aloud and participate enthusiastically during shared reading time. his excitement for learning is a love I hope to ingrain in my students so they become life-long learners.
My Project
A new school year is quickly approaching and I want to make sure my students have everything they need to succeed. Many of the students in my school do not come with the basics and so I want to make sure no one is going without. Last year when I got supplies donated the students were so grateful to just be able to grab whatever they needed.
Pencils, paper, and scissors are all supplies that we use on a daily basis in multiple subjects.
Without these supplies my students would struggle to learn in fourth grade. Help us start off our 2019-2020 school year off right!
