Help me give my students storage for tools (pencils, papers, erasers, sharpener), organization (clips, storage), and to keep they healthy and comfortable (clean environment with wipes, tissue, hand sanitizer, and smells nice).
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are challenged daily in various areas. They live in a high poverty area, so they are challenged in their homes as they have limited food supplies and school supplies. They hear gunshots throughout their communities ringing loudly, but there are very few voices encouraging them to keep trying.
Unfortunately, they are challenged in the classroom as they struggle to read, write, and compute with limited amount of supplies to inspire them to achieve.
With additional resources in the classroom to stimulate their minds, I could guide and ignite a passion for learning that could help them along life's journey.
My Project
The supplies purchased here would provide my students with the basic supplies that they will need throughout the winter months and help them remain in a healthy and clean class environment.
My students work so hard to do well in school so they should not be held back because they lack the basic school supplies.
The students will use the pencils, sharpeners, erasers, glue, magnetic dots, and coloring supplies throughout the year for special projects and class activities that will be displayed. With the winter months coming, the kids are in need of sanitizer, tissue, and disinfecting wipes to help keep the class healthy. Being inside of the classroom all day makes the students somewhat antsy, lavender is a calming scent that also helps them focus. All students say how they love the lavender scent.
I plan to use the cart for storage, clips to organize their materials, the timer to help keep them on task, and with the PowerPoint pointer I will be able to move fluently around the classroom to help clear up misconceptions as soon as they arise. The kids and I will be so excited and thankful to see new supplies come to the classroom which have been donated by people around the world.
