Our school is a residential school that helps kids with behavioral, emotional and social disorders. These disorders may sometimes cause the students to perceive situations differently and feel like they have been forgotten or discriminated against.
We have a wide range of ages and disabilities in our school, but we are all one community.
We are in a suburban setting near a larger city. We are the only residential school within a 50-mile radius. Most students who come to live here stay for an average of 2 years.
My Project
My students need two replacement yoga balls for our sensory rolling chairs, deodorant so they can feel and smell fresh at school as well snacks to keep our minds focused and not have growling stomachs.
Students who come to our school struggle to recieve the basic needs they need at home and often there is not much financial support left for supplies at school.
These students come to depend on the classroom for supplying school supplies as well as supplementing their nutritional needs/desires. We try to supply academic as well as emotional support to our students. We need your help to achieve our classroom goals. With the funding of this project we can make sure we are looking at the whole child and make sure we are meeting all of their needs.
