Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are what drives every decision in my class. The majority come from low-income families and in spite of their struggles, they come to school every day eager to learn. My students have a mix of abilities and disabilities and I strive to reach them day-to-day.
My students enjoy and appreciate everything provided to them in the classroom to be successful, empowered, and feel comfortable to express themselves.
They are ecstatic about learning in different ways and I want to provide that for them.
My Project
This project will provide supplies for students to have basic needs along with a few more flexible seating options. Many students come to school without supplies and I want to ensure ALL students have everything they need to have a successful year in my fourth-grade classroom. My goal is to not have any child go without supplies while in my room.
Being able to provide a few needed supplies, more flexible seating options, and positive posters will provide a space of inclusion.
Lysol wipes, Expo markers, pencils, pencil sharpener, and colored paper will help provide an engaging classroom where every child feels they belong. New yoga and exercise balls will provide a greater variety of flexible seating. Providing a safe and welcoming environment to all students is what I strive for to promote maximum learning.
