My Students

This year, I am teaching my fifth year in 1st grade. Over the past few years, I have realized what a diverse range of learners you get in each class and even year to year. Every student learns in their own unique way and discovering strategies to reach the needs of each learner is a daunting task. The challenge of reaching out and meeting the needs of each student in your classroom takes many tools. My students come from low to medium income levels. Some with little to no parent involvement and support from home. If there are various ways I can give those students supplementary resources from the classroom, it would be very rewarding.

I want to give my students supplies that will help support learning thorughout this pandemic.

I want to give my students fresh new supplies that will help support learning in and out of the classroom. I am requesting a Web cam to support my teaching to students in the classroom and at home. I would love to get me students whiteboards to promote interactive hands-on leaning.

My Project

The use of whiteboards or manipulatives is an everyday activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using supplies and tools give my students the opportunity to stay engaged in hands on learning of everyday math that they can take pride in. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.

Having a webcam/microphone and headphones in class will create ease in creating blended learning centers for my kids.

It will also benefit me and my students when students may be in the home doing a remote learning style of education. With the surging pandemic, talk of Remote learning is always an option. Having these supplies will aid in reaching my students easily and confidently.

My students participate in blended learning centers daily as part of our small group instruction time. These student headphones will help them stay engaged and participate in the activity explained to them.

The various school supplies will create peace in my classroom where students can feel a sense of belonging with their own supplies and an organizational point to the belongings.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the tools provided!
