Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, dedicated and eager to learn! They enjoy being engaged in learning and truly feeling like they are part of the process. A large population of our school are English Language Learners who speak dozens of different languages.
Our school gives children from all cultures, areas, and family incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive in a school environment.
No matter their circumstances at home, all of my students come in ready to explore with their minds a little more deeply each day.
My Project
Teaching at a Title I school, we often see families struggle to purchase school supplies, especially to replenish school supplies. With everything happening because of COVID-19, families may be unable to ensure their children can go back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Purchasing supplies may be extremely difficult for a lot of these families.
I want these families to not worry about school supplies so that they can continue to ensure their families are fed and sheltered.
