My students are eager, ambitious, and independent, but at the same time unmotivated, lacking awareness of cultures, and have a narrow view of languages and how important they are to them in a career.
Students come to the world language classroom scared, intimidated, and unprepared for the great adventure which knowing a new language can give them.
My students are from a small, high poverty, mountain high school with limited experiences of other cultures and international life. They need exposure to the cultures they learn about in class.
My Project
The items I am requesting are basic, everyday items used in a classroom. They sometimes go unnoticed, but are important when the need arises for them and they are not on hand.
The batteries will be used in clocks, timers, buzzers, and other classroom items used in everyday lesson plans and instructional activities.
The card stock paper will be used to create classroom learning and motivational posters. It will also be used to create practice cards for learning activities. The dice will be used in verb conjugation practice, sentence creation practice, and to choose words during speaking activities. The PowerPoint clicker will be helpful for me to continue presentations as I could more easily circulate around the classroom and monitor students.
