My students are an amazing group of individuals who come from low-income homes and poverty. They bring many pieces of baggage into the classroom, but when they are in an exciting, loving, and engaging classroom, they can leave it all behind and shine as brilliant and bright students!
For my students, coming to school gives them an escape and a way to show all they are capable of achieving in life!
In my classroom, I always hope to give students many opportunities to grow and thrive. They have amazing kid-inspired ideas and always share things they think can make our classroom great!
My Project
In my math classroom, I reteach and extend the knowledge of about 70 fifth grade math students daily in small group instruction. As we begin to approach the end of the year, our beginning of the year supplies are dwindling and we are running out of pencils! I am the teacher that when a student says they need a pencil, I hand them one because if they are willing and wanting to learn, but just don't have a pencil, I will make sure they have one... but my supplies are running low!
As we approach the end of the school year and prepare to the End of Grade tests, I would like to help my students make review notebooks, like a student made math textbook, to help them master the 5th grade math content.
In order to make these, each student will need a glue stick, notebook, and pencils with erasers. After taking notes, students will need the whiteboard markers and erasers to complete practice problems on the review objective.
While this isn't a fancy or super creative project, it is one of necessity and the materials purchased will be used daily and instantly. Thank you for considering supporting my students with review notebook supplies!
