My students need a healthy work environment that has all the supplies they need. All the necessary materials at their fingertips to make them successful.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my classroom come from a low income neighborhood. Many of the students I teach are from single parent homes or may even live with a grandparent. School is a place where some of them come to get away from the home life they have to deal with. Many of my students have ADHD, emotional disorders, and low self esteem. They struggle with organizational skills and keeping up with materials.
The 6th grade is made up of over 90 brilliant students who deserve to have all they need in order to become successful in the future.
My Project
The supplies we are asking for will help my students succeed with their writing and learning skills on a daily basis. They come from low income families and are always needing supplies. They are eager to write and create, but sometimes lack the materials to do so.
A donation to this project will help my 6th graders become successful when it comes to their writing and comprehension skills.
Students will be able to focus on being able to complete essays and add to their interactive notebooks with out worrying how they will get the materials they need. Our interactive notebooks contain pertinent information they will need in their current grade and grades to come. They become a resource to the students. I have also asked for hand sanitizer because our school funding has not provided us with this, and with the flu and cold epidemics, I need my students healthy when creating those essays.
