Help me give my students the supplemental tools (books, cubes, and blocks) to help them become the best students they can be and succeed to their highest potential.
Hello! This is my first year of teaching. I teach in a third-grade classroom in a low-income area. My students are bright, creative, and full of questions. I am creating this project with the hope to provide my students with more supplies that will open more opportunities for them to learn. I am in need of creating a collection of books to be able to complete a fully stocked classroom library to be able to practice novel studies in my classroom. Also, I am in need of math and science tools to further my students learning. Both a collection of books and math tools will help me provide an education for all of my students.
In my classroom, I have a range of learning abilities and ESL students, which I believe these tools will supplement the need we have in our classroom.
Our classroom is filled with diversity; everyone is different and learns differently. With these new tools, the students will be able to add to their skill set to succeed and be able to take those skills they have learned home to help them further their learning.
My Project
Supplemental tools help those students who learn differently. The materials that are included in my project are to help improve my students reading ability, reading comprehension, and math skills. I believe reading is the fundamental skill that all students need to succeed as a human in daily life. Math is also an important factor to help a student grow.
Each of these materials will help my lower students to improve their academic skills and it will help all of my students to further their learning.
These tools will allow helping my students who need to learn hands-on or need to have an additional technique of encouraging their education. For example, the selection of books will allow me to run a novel study in my class. The higher academic students will be able to read independently and I will be able to help support the lower students. The cubes and blocks will help as counters for our different math problems we will be doing throughout the year.
