Superstar Shamrock Math
My students need 1 set of skip counting stories, 2 patterning match-ups, 1 set of lakeshore student clocks, 1 set of addition match-ups, 2 number train floor puzzles, 1 add-a-frog math center and 1 follow-the-dots number stamps set.
I work in a high poverty elementary school. My class is made up of mostly African American and Hispanic students. I work with gifted students in a learning immersion class. Because they are of higher ability they need many different activities to stimulate their mind.
Due to the lack of funds we have not been able to purchase activities they could do during stations or other items such as clocks that would better enable my students to be ready for the challenges of first grade.
This project will help my students by giving them new and exciting ways to learn the objectives I am teaching them. They will be able to work in small groups to better enhance their skills. This will allow them to be better prepared for the next grade level.
You will enrich the lessons taught to the students. You will help the students get a better grasp of the material taught. You will help them be better prepared for the rigors of first grade.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
