The kids at my school come to school each and every day energized and ready to learn. We are located in the great state of Nebraska. There are students with family members serving in the military, students who are English Language Learners, and many more.
The students love books and can't wait to become superhero readers!
Kindergarten is an important year of school for the children.
It is the first year they are working together as a team, so every child can succeed!
My Project
My kindergarten students need to have some superhero capes and masks to practice being superhero readers.
We need books to reinforce reading skills and strategies to develop a love for reading.
The books about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln tie into our social studies curriculum of investigating President's Day and exploring the symbols of our country.
We need books about animals that tie into our science curriculum. The books discuss habitats and insects. The books about a duck or a rabbit introduces the students to writing about their opinions and having evidence to explain their opinion.
We need the letter crayon game to practice our blending skills to make short words with a vowel in the middle.
