Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

2020-21 was the year of Zoom. This 2021-22 school year has been an extreme challenge in student engagement. Kids have come back into the classroom, and had to relearn how to be a student at school on a daily basis. As a result of this, it has lead to so many extra challenges mentally for so many students in my classroom. The positive that has started to shine through is that students are excited to be in the classroom again and LOVE hands on activities with learning.

Please help me give my students the gift of a teambuilding activity to reinforce the fun science standards we have engaged with this year in the classroom.

Students love LEGOs and building characters they know and care about. Since my classroom is set up as a superhero themed room, I want to give the kids the opportunity to build some sets which will come together to form something they will be proud of when they are done. These sets will be used for an entire lesson series to wrap up the year, and show these kids they can come together to work towards a common goal.

My students have 3 months left before they become middle schoolers, I want to give them the confidence to know that they will be ok. I also want them to have some fun before they leave. Thanks in advance for reading, I appreciate it so very much!
