I teach in a city school where over 70% of our students receive free/reduced lunch. I have a classroom full of 3rd graders who are excited about the school year and enjoy coming to school. We have a "magical Harry Potter" theme (Knowledge is Magic) in our classroom and the kids are loving it!
I believe that with hard work and proper motivation, all of my students are capable of overcoming the obstacles that life has put in their way.
Whether it is a learning disability, poverty, home life, ADHD, or anything else, we can work together and grow towards the goal of being educated contributing members of society!
My Project
Every year we use many supplies that go beyond paper, pencils, and crayons. This project will help supply some of the items that normally come straight out of my pocket. Whatever help you can give will be greatly appreciated!
All of these items get used regularly in my classroom.
My 3rd graders will use the chart paper and poster markers for both anchor charts and group projects. They will be posted around the room so we can refer to them as we are learning. Colored card stock gets used constantly for both student projects and other items that get saved and used over and over such as DIY game boards for math fluency.
Keeping our classroom clean and functioning is important. We go through a lot of white board cleaner since we use dry erase items almost daily and the boards get very dirty. Some students can't stand to have a dirty board and they get cleaned weekly. The same goes for cleaning our computers and the technology wipes.
