This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of low-income students. Some of the students in my class come from Spanish, Chinese, British and African cultures. What makes my students special is they come to school with an eager attitude to learn. Some days are not as good as others, but I can say at the end of the day that the students are glad they came to school. Our teachers work hard in order to give students what they need in a timely manner.

My Project

My school is a Title I school with 100 percent free breakfast and free lunch. We have a bus called the "Transitional Bus" that picks up kids from local hotels and other locations that house homeless students and their families. I want to create a book bag that will include school supplies, tooth brushes with tooth paste and lunch boxes with snacks.

I want to provide all of our homeless students with the supplies that they need for the new school year.

Each homeless student will receive a book bag filled with all the supplies they need to start the new year and snacks to help keep them filled. They will have everything they need without feeling different than any other student. Self-pride equals confident happy students.
