My Students

My students come to school excited to learn and explore new topics, but not with the resources they need to be completely successful.

My students are kind and beautiful children, but haven't had the same opportunities or experiences as most children their age.

100% of our school population receives free breakfast and lunch, with most students coming from a Native American background. For some of my students school is their safe place and I am glad that I can provide a safe place for them to learn.

My Project

My students need three cartons of pencils to complete daily activities and an electric pencil sharpener to keep those pencils sharpened. My students will use the pencils and sharpener daily to help complete our classroom tasks. My students love to write and illustrate their work and these materials will help them complete both of those tasks. I want my students to be prepared for the school day and having a pencil is the first step.

It seems that in most classrooms across America students bring supplies to class on the first day of school, unfortunately my students usually aren't able to buy those simple supplies.

These supplies would be a great addition to our classroom and help my students have a great year and improve their learning!
