As a former middle school teacher, I know what my fifth graders need for their next steps into become successful and responsible learners. A crucial key to that success is to build good study habits. With these new tools, I hope to help them hone those study skills starting from an early age.
Many of my students come from low-income families and homes that speak English as a second language.
They are lively, creative, fun, and have a passion for gaining new knowledge. This is a full-inclusion classroom, with a wide range of ability levels and styles of learning among the students, but each and every one of them is invaluable to building a strong community of learners.
My Project
My students need materials that will help them build a solid foundation for studying and focusing on their work. By using the study carrels, students will be able to focus on their work without getting distracted by their surroundings as easily. With the dry erase tools, students can use them to help each other study for tests, practice math facts, write out vocabulary words, work on their handwriting and cursive skills, and much more.
By using these new items, students will be able to learn a sense of responsibility, focus, and gain vital study skills in order to be successful in the next steps of their lives.
They will learn how to keep themselves focused, organized, and prepared for learning at their full potential.
