Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a wide range of cultural and economic structures. My classroom is a blended community of bilingual students, low-income, and middle-class families, students with special needs, and students who are TAG. This makes differentiation crucial to their learning experience and also brings a multitude of lenses to our lessons.

My students love hands-on learning experiences where they get to apply what they've learned in class and make it relevant to the world around them.

They aren't afraid to ask questions and take risks because they know our classroom is a safe place to do so. My passion is to teach my students to be independent thinkers and community leaders someday. I want them to have every opportunity to learn not from a textbook but from cultivated experiences we create together.

My Project

This project is created for our entire 5th grade team and students which totals 75 learners! We have a wonderful new reading curriculum that comes with independent, leveled readers. With these leveled readers, comes the need for organization. Unfortunately, we are lacking the storage to keep them organized in our classrooms. That's where Donorschoose and our amazing community are needed!

The organizational bins we are seeking will allow teachers and students to quickly access their weekly leveled reader and keep learning in small groups moving forward.

The little bit of time saved by making these leveled readers accessible to our learners, maximizes our small group instruction.
