I teach a wonderful group of 25 diverse students at a Title I school in Texas. They are creative and easy to engage in real world problem situations. They thrive when they are challenged to think outside of the box, and excel when they are able to connect their learning to things that actually matter in the "real world." They are very motivated and engaged in science and mathematical questions and problems.
They enjoy taking their learning to different levels, through different means.
Student choice is big in my classroom. I would like to be able to provide them with more opportunities to use their problem solving skills through the use of reading and math games on the computer. During math and reading station time each day they have the opportunity to work on learning games that allow them to compete against their peers in teams, and independently. They are becoming great critical thinkers through these challenges, and would greatly benefit from the use of additional devices to work with.
My Project
My students love to enhance their learning through technology during stations for reading and math. They need two more chromebooks to allow them more opportunity to work on math and reading challenges during stations. With additional chromebooks they will have the opportunity to compete against more students at once. They will also have the opportunity to get immediate feedback when they are practicing new skills Through the use of chromebooks they will gain a deeper understanding of what they have learned, as well as have the ability to extend past their current level when they are ready. Chromebooks will be a great addition to our classroom.
