I teach 18 wonderful and extremely smart 4-5 yr olds in Pre-K! My students love to learn and work hard! I have my class for a full day of Math, Reading, Music, Art, Science, and Social-Emotional Learning. Each student has their own personality and learning style. To better cater to my students learning styles and abilities, I administer monthly tests like alphabet knowledge, number recognition, and counting. This data helps me determine what my student's academic needs are and how I can adjust the curriculum to fit those needs.
My goal as a teacher is for my students to leave my class loving to learn and be prepared for Kindergarten.
My Project
This iPad tablet will be used as an assessment tool for my students. As a Pre-K teacher and a previous Kindergarten teacher, I want my students to be well prepared to enter Kindergarten. With the iPad, I will use applications such as AIMs, FrogStreet, and Class Dojo to assess students' knowledge, as well as communicate with parents on their child’s progress in the classroom. The tablet will also be used to capture and share pictures of the children's successes in our room, as well as a small group tool to make lessons more interactive for students (using videos, learning games, etc.) I want my students to have the best education and instruction possible! A strong foundation of learning will set them up for success as they continue through school.
