My students need Sphero Educational robots, covers and cases to continue learning about robotics and coding. We love it and are learning beyond our wildest imaginations!
I am a fifth grade Title One teacher in a small West Virginia town. The kids I teach are just like kids all over the country. They are good and decent and want to do the right thing. Our students are funny and intelligent. Most come to school ready to learn, but unfortunately, not all of these kids are given the best foundation. We do live in a high poverty area. Many of our students lack basic needs, let alone technology, in their home. We try hard to fill in the gaps and keep our students competitive with others across the country.
My Project
The excitement and enthusiasm in our Fifth Grade classes is at an all time high! We have been using other class robots, like the Ozobot, to learn about coding and robotics. We are learning and using skills that my students thought were only for college age learners. Children are giving up recess time to write code and try to out do each other with tricks and courses. These Sphero Educational robots will allow us to advance this type of learning while using different mediums like paint and water. This type of learning encourages collaborative efforts among the students to build bigger and better structures and take steps to further their knowledge in this field of study.
