The learners in my school come from a wide variety of backgrounds and needs. My class has a large number of students with disabilities and special needs including ESL, speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. These students along with our regular education students who perform at or above grade level create a unique learning environment.
Studies show that quality early childhood programming provide children with a great start to their school career.
Our goal is to provide a place to be creative and curious while also learning to be great people!
My Project
These materials will help my students gain a better understanding of their own emotions as well as the emotions of others in our classroom, school, family, and community. By building resilience and empathy in the early years, students will be better able to grow from mistakes and control their emotions.
Through the use of safe spaces to explore emotions, students can gain a greater awareness of themselves and others.
These materials will provide hands-on practice identifying emotions and understanding how to cope with them. In addition, the comfy area to take a break will allow students to regulate their emotions.
These skills are necessary for school years and beyond into adulthood!
