Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third-grade students walk into our classroom every day full of excitement and enthusiasm. Third grade is an exhilarating experience for most children, but for my students, all of whom come from a high-poverty neighborhood, it is a chance to spend hours visiting and learning in a more positive environment.
Our literacy classroom is a sweet escape that gives these emerging students the chance to become explorers, critical thinkers, and authors.
As a teacher, it is my job to teach diverse groups of students who learn in very different ways. My students are always eager to learn something new. My goal is to help students become active in their education so that they can enjoy learning new ideas and concepts that they can take with them throughout their educational career.
I am determined not let the obstacles of minimal to no resources be discouraging!
My Project
My students need healthy snacks in the afternoon! Almost one hundred percent of my students received free and reduced lunch. Due to the fact we are a turn around school, my students have very lengthy afternoons and we are here until four o'clock each day. I find that my students are hungry and feeling lethargic around two o'clock. The Blue Ribbon snacks would help to not only feed their mouths, but their minds too! Although many students start out the year with one or two pencils, they disappear within a week! Having extra pencils, notebooks, erasers, and a dependable sharpener in my classroom is essential!
These Smart School Supplies will help my students to be prepared, less hungry, and ready to learn!
Showing respect to peers and teachers is very important. The anti-bullying posters are a necessity for any classroom. I want to motivate and teach my students how to treat each other each and every day as they grow. The posters will be daily reminders! The stacking stools will give my students the opportunity to work in different places in the classroom other than their desk. The index cards and post it notes are used for our daily do-now task which help each student to master each skill being practiced. I am determined to keep my students happy, healthy, and prepared so that they can have an equal chance at succeeding!
