Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the lucky Art teacher to sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade budding artists. They surprise me every day with just how creative and ambitious they are. I have a classroom of future anime drawers, fashion designers, painters, and more.
My students are so full of magic and brilliance and I hope to provide them with a variety of materials that allow them to explore different art forms that will inspire their passion for art!
My main role at my school is an English and History teacher. Art is the elective that I teach, so my supplies are very limited. Most of my students are English Language learners and it's incredible to watch them express themselves through art. Their brains work in incredible ways!
My Project
These materials will allow my students the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of amazing ways! We don't always have the funds for more expensive and supplementary art materials so this will go a LONG way and allow my students the artistic expression that they deserve.
I plan to use several arts and crafts projects throughout the year as a means of improving motor skills, creativity, visual learning, perseverance, and focus.
Lesson plans will include self-portraits, box weaving, cross stitching, pastel sunsets, windchimes, pot decorating for our school garden, halloween masks and decorations, stuffed animals, optical illusions, and more!
