My students need these learning models/kits (space model, rock sets) to better grasp scientific concepts and they need scissors and basic supplies for daily learning use.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Tim Minchin once remarked, "Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing our curiosity." Curiosity and a passion for exploration and discovery is what drives our classroom learning activities and experiments. Help us further 'organize our curiosity' with these supplies.
This is my 40th year working with the wonderful students of this community.
I have taught generations of families, and I am still extremely dedicated and thrilled that I get the privilege to educate my unique population of students. My school is located in a low socio-economic region, where most of my students are poverty-stricken and ESL (English Second Language) learners. Additionally, I have a large population of Special Education needs students; in total, I have around 90 students that I teach in all my different classes. Any help that can be offered to our community of students is greatly appreciated. Despite their many struggles, the majority of my students are eager to learn, explore, and discover when they walk into our science classroom/lab. I am committed to trying to instill in them a passion for science and my sincere hope is that if I continue to show them how enthusiastic I am about using curiosity to discover science, they will be more willing to learn and love science.
My Project
The models and kits requested in this project will serve the invaluable contribution of aiding in my students' comprehension of key scientific concepts. The Solar System model and star machine will allow them to put the layout of our vast universe into perspective. I will use these models to enhance their perspective of planetary positions within the Solar System. The models will capture and hold their attention and foster a clearer understanding of our space unit's main learning objectives. Additionally, the rock sets will help them practice identifying metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary rocks and allow them to analyze the key features of each of these types of rocks as they occur in the rock cycle. The heat specimen kit and the model of the earth's layers will also help provide a visual, hands-on learning experience during our studies of thermal energy and heat conduction as well as plate tectonics and layers of our earth. The notebooks, scissors, and pencils are necessary for our daily learning.
Many of my poverty-stricken students struggle to enhance their own learning perspectives because they are usually exposed to so little beyond their normal routines and daily lives.
Scientific concepts and academic vocabulary are quite foreign to them, and these models and kits will provide them with hands-on, visual, and exciting ways to grasp key scientific concepts necessary for their overall understanding of the world around them. These requested materials will help them tremendously.
