Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are passionate, hard-working and loving. We call ourselves a family and it shows in their friendships and partner work. They are always looking out for each other and willing to help one another. One of my favorite things about being a family is they are very accepting of each other. My students come from diverse backgrounds and many have hardships in their home lives but they always come to school excited and ready to learn.
This year my students are most passionate about science, reading and art.
They are very curious about the world around them and enjoy learning new things every day.
My Project
My students love to read about science concepts and watch educational videos that explore new ideas. I would love to use Scholastic News subscriptions and Scholastic Science magazines so that my students have access to current and educational information.
The ability to read about science will have a lasting impression on them and will increase their understanding of core concepts.
We will be able to use these resources to build a deeper understanding before participating in STEM activities as a class. My students will also be able to use the information when writing their five paragraph essays on science topics.
