Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an inner-city public school which houses a program for Autistic Impaired Learners. We have a diverse population of students with various Autism Spectrum Disorders.
My classroom consists of eighteen children, two of whom are on the Autism Spectrum.
All my students are the kindest and hardworking students you will ever meet. They are so genuinely thoughtful and selfless. Watching how all students accept one another for their unique and beautiful differences is truly amazing. I am the luckiest teacher on the planet!
My Project
These Second Grade books are a great tool to supplement school curriculum and help my second grade students learn geography and science concepts. Level by level, these workbooks offer Geography practice that kids actually enjoy — making them ideal supplements to the curriculum. Designed to support the Common Core State Standards, this series is developed with leading educational experts to build confidence and understanding. Each leveled workbook, is packed with activities and challenges, offering the beneficial repetition and cumulative learning that lead to mastery. The exercises themselves reinforce key geography topics, including: map reading, compass directions, continents, countries and states, borders, bodies of water, and more. Grade 2 loves to learn about Science! These Daily Science Consumable workbooks fit standards-based science instruction into our second grade curriculum! I would like to help my grade 2 students develop a genuine understanding of standards-based scientific concepts and vocabulary using the 150 engaging activities in Daily Science! A variety of rich resources, including vocabulary practice, hands-on science activities, and comprehension tests in multiple-choice format, help successfully introduce students to earth, life, and physical science concepts. 30 weeks of instruction cover the following standards-based science topics: Different kinds of living things have different life cycles, Plants and animals look a lot like their parents, Earth contains rock, water, and air. People use all of these things, The sun, moon, and stars all have predictable patterns of movement, Sounds are made by vibrating objects. Sounds can travel through solids, liquids, and gases, and Magnets make some things move without touching them. My second graders would benefit tremendously from these workbooks.
