Help me give my students hands on experiences as they learn about light, magnets, buoyancy, and more. Imagine the excitement when students discover attractive and repulsive forces between objects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Enthusiastic, energetic, and inquisitive are a few words that come to mind when thinking about the young learners in my class. My class is comprised of 23 amazing third graders who are eager to learn. Our school has received academic achievement awards the past six years, is a California Distinguished School, and a School For Advanced Studies. These accomplishments are due to teachers and parents working together. Our school is a great place to learn, but lacks science material due to limited funding.
"Science is the key to our future, and if you don't believe in science, then you're holding everybody back,"--Bill Nye
My students are able to grasp new concepts when they are able to use concrete materials to learn.
My Project
My wonderful students will be fascinated when the are able to use hands on materials to learn about color, light, and shadows. Students; interest will grow when they discover what items sink or float. Students are sure to gain a better understanding of science concepts when they are able to experiment with these activities.
Hands on materials will spark students interest in science.
Not only will students gain a better understanding of science concepts, but also make real world connections as they use these science materials. Students will be engaged and look forward to learning about science with these cool activities.
