My Students

I teach a split level 3/4 class. This means half my class is made up of third graders and the other half is fourth graders. During my class, I am busy switching between two different curriculums and trying to challenge both grade levels every day. I currently teach in a small school in Delta Junction, Alaska. My school is a great community which always go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The students really enjoyed showing me everything Alaska has to offer!

My Project

Currently at our school we are in the process of switching over to a new science curriculum. The problem is that most of our materials are adapted for outdated standards. I am looking for new high interest texts that will engage my students on a weekly basis. With more high stakes testing coming down the line soon, I want my students to be fully prepared for the higher level vocabulary that will be on these tests. We currently have subscriptions to scholastics literature and current event magazines and my students absolutely love them. We are looking to add to our collection of exciting science reading material!
