My Students
My students are energetic and excited about learning. They especially love learning on computers. As the ESL general education teacher, I have a diverse group of learners ranging from proficient native English speakers to students who are newcomers to the US. Most of my students come from middle to low socioeconimc status homes, so they needs lots of love and structure in the classroom. It would be great to provide them with cultural opportunities they may never receive outside the classroom!
My Project
This set of magazines, along with online access, will help bring science to life! It not only allows me as the teacher to integrate science and reading, but also provides real-world examples for the students. By donating to this project, students will become more engaged with the topics due to the bright pictures and intriguing text. Students will also be able to hold a magazine and learn about practical examples of nonfiction text that is regularly used in the real world. These magazine will be used on a regular basis in the classroom and will be a game changer for teacher instruction and increasing student engagement.
