This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, countries, languages, and experiences. Many of my students are English Learners and their families speak other languages at home. I teach science to students from first through fifth grade in one of the most diverse communities in Massachusetts.
The diversity of our classroom is not only what makes us unique, but it is what makes us thrive as a community.
My Project
The materials that are being requested will provide a means to make maps and other work stand out with detailed color. Science projects about animals will come alive with detailed crayon work. When they draw themselves it will be nice to use multicultural crayons. These colored pencils and crayons will allow the students to enter the classroom and not have to worry about if they have their own crayons or colored pencils to use. Not only will the materials provide a stockpile so that students will not have to worry, but the materials will be used for special projects throughout the year. A simple crayon or colored pencil goes a long way in making classroom projects shine!
