Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am in need of nonfiction children's books about science topics that interest them to help "beef up" my science center in my child development classroom. These resources will help my students in the inquiry process when exploring objects in the science center and topics that we are studying throughout the year. These books will be a great resource for my young students as they research topics that interest them. I teach a combination three and four year old child development class in a rural school in South Carolina. I teach twenty children all subject areas - language arts, science, math, music, art, drama, physical activity, and health. All my students will participate in this endeavor. I am asking for children's books appropriate for the youngest students and containers in which to store the books. I want my students to have more resources readily available to them to encourage inquiry and research into topics that intrigue them.
