My students are important, creative, and loved, and throughout the year, turn into a family. They learn to respectfully communicate in a comfortable and safe environment. I want them to become leaders not only in the classroom, but in their everyday lives. They love to read and write utilizing topics that peak their interests. My ultimate goal is for them to become confident in themselves and their achievements so that they can continue to be successful in all aspects of life.
These non-fiction articles will provide my students with an additional opportunity to read engaging texts. Scholastic News magazines will allow students to read digitally and print texts while appealing to their interests. This resource for my second-grade students will create excitement in my classroom and will foster rich discussions. They can use the online and print resources weekly which will give them exposure to informational text, which is a huge need for my students. This will be beneficial for both their reading and writing skills.
