My Students

I am a Fifth grade teacher in a Title I school in a small West Virginia town. The kids I teach are just like kids all over the country. They are good and decent and want to do the right thing. Our students are funny and intelligent. Most come to school ready to learn, but unfortunately, not all of these kids are given the best foundation. We do live in a high poverty area. Many of our students lack basic needs, let alone technology in their home. We try hard to fill in the gaps and to keep our students competitive with others across the country.

My Project

As we move toward a technology rich school, we rely more and more on our iPads to complete assignments. What would once have been a worksheet is now done using technology. We use our iPads to submit assignments using air drop and email and to research our projects. This document scanner will allow us to scan workbook pages and assignments for students without making one paper copy! The styluses will make it much easier for students to write legibly and for us to make corrections and send the work back to the student. This scanner will make us an incredibly modern class room.
