I teach kindergarten in a suburban school. Kindergarten has changed a lot over the course of my teaching career. Rigorous standards and maximized instruction time has pushed students to work even harder than before. Fortunately, my students LOVE learning. They eagerly learn new things, try hard, and grow daily as learners.
My students LOVE reading!
They are avid readers and each day they fall more in love with reading. Reading has become one of their favorite activities. My students enjoy reading books in various settings and situations.
I LOVE watching my students grow! Playing a small role in developing my students as lifelong learners brings me great joy!
My Project
It is important for students to have the opportunity to successfully read books on their reading level. Having more books means that my students will be able to take home books to practice reading, inside and outside of the classroom. Through this project, students will be able to take home a variety of books each day. As they finish a text, students will have the opportunity to take home a different book. The more students read, the stronger they become as readers. As my students grow, they are are able to develop as super readers. Super readers love reading, persevere even when texts seem difficult, and challenge themselves to read harder texts. Being a super reader leads to lifelong readers.
