Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students love a good competition! I am a new librarian and am looking for ways to engage students in reading, researching, and library-offered programs. Throughout the year, I will be engaging students in contests for PBIS points and additional prizes. Students will use these prizes to encourage their classmates to participate in the research-based questions posted weekly. This will help to enhance their individual reading and research skills outside of just normal classroom topics. This is something brand new for my school and I'm excited to share in this future learning process with my high schoolers and teachers.

With these selections, students will be eager to choose their prizes from a great selection of chips, candy, wall clips, and small toys.

Since this is a new program, students need some encouragement to once again participate in events that will help them grow. This prize closet is a step in the forward direction and I'm eager to get kids excited about reading and learning again!
