I teach in at a public elementary school in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is my second year teaching and I am trying to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.
My super students are kind, thoughtful, and energetic learners ready to give every day their all.
They come to school eager to learn every day! We have a great time together exploring the world around us in science, our nation's history, practicing math, and looking for a deeper understanding of literature. These kiddos are super stars!
My Project
I remember when I was in elementary school, I developed my love for reading through the great books I was always exposed to. My teachers made recommendations to me based on my interests and other books they saw me reading. These days, kids have become accustomed to getting on a device any time they have some spare time, whether it's for school work or fun, they seem to have less exposure to books.
My project would stock our classroom library with classics as well as new titles with selections appealing to all students!
Studies show the more contact a child has with books, the better the reader they will grow to be! I want my kiddos to have access to great books. There is nothing better than seeing a child's face light up while telling you all about the great book they just finished reading!
