My students need a variety of literary tools and materials to continue to foster their love of reading! They are eager to read including my approaching grade level students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Welcome to my school and My Class of Super Heroes!
My school is made up of students ranging from early childhood to fifth grade.
In addition to our regular program we also have a hearing impaired Early Childhood Program for students age two through five. For our students in grades 2 through 5 we have Talented and Gifted Program, Instrumental Music and Choir program.
My students are extremely inquisitive and are eager to learn. They are excited to explore new ideas and are always looking for a challenge. This year 80% of my students are high on grade level or above grade level readers. The rest of the students are making steady progress and are motivated by their peers to continue to work hard.
I observe my students frequently throughout the day reading and engaging in free writing activities. I have upgraded my classroom library to include higher level reading books with a variety of genres. As their teacher, I am inspired to continue to motivate and explore new techniques that will continue to foster their learning.
My Project
I am requesting literature materials to continue to foster learning in my students who are extremely motivated to learn. My first grade students who have a fascination for literature and who motivate each other to learn, I am always looking for a ways to present literature in a variety of ways.
The students are always excited when I introduce literature materials to them.
They love using hot dots, audio books and games for independent work and peer group time. This project will provide materials to continue my students' love of literature! Please help us to provide these materials for my class!
