My students need a real listening center, puppets, a set of Listening & Following Directions Activity Centers and more audiobooks to practice their listening skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember how much fun you had in school when you got to go to the listening center? I currently have a makeshift listening center with a cheap CD player and cheap headphones that are too big for my students.
My students are some of the sweetest children that you will ever meet but they are all developmentally delayed in different areas.
There are activities that they can't do for various reasons but one that they can do and like to do is the listening center. They attend a high poverty school where almost all of the students receive free or reduced lunch.
My Project
These books on CD, puppets, and listening center will make such an impact not only on this year's students but for students in the years to come. I have attempted to create a listening center, but the CD player which was not sturdy broke once already. I have had to replace the cheap headphones that I purchased multiple times as well. My students need a listening center that is sturdy with headphones that will fit their little heads.
This listening center is the last major thing that I dream about being able to get for my kids.
This will mean so much for everyone to have a real listening center and all these wonderful books on CD.
