At our Title I school with students who come from low-income or high-poverty homes, students are faced with challenges in and outside of the classroom. All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. Sometimes these meals are all that they may get for the day. Some of the students who come to my classroom face homelessness, live in shelters, motels, or are living with family members or friends.
Many students come to my classroom for extra help and support with their academic and social learning.
My classroom is specially structured to meet their needs. We strive to provide a full educational experience for all students, incorporating social skills, community skills, and functional skills into our daily routines.
My Project
When you walk into a classroom, what is the first thing that you see? Do you imagine walking into a classroom with 4 white walls and a few desks? I sure hope not! I want to transform my classroom into something spectacular that children are excited to come to!
With your help, I want to decorate my classroom in a super hero theme.
I will need table cloths to act as a background for bulletin boards and super hero border to fancy it up! I will need decorated folder storage and name tags for each student. To help keep up with the theme, I will need super hero call outs to tell students how awesome and super they are! I will also need a super hero treasure chest and some little goodies to put inside, such as stickers and bracelets, for students to enjoy!
