Imaginations will run wild as my students grow as readers. They need books that will hold their interest and encourage them to read.
Do you remember what it was like to read a book that you would remember forever?
I want my students to have that same feeling in my classroom. As a special education teacher, I teach reading, writing, and math to 26 fourth and fifth graders. All of students are eager and enthusiastic when it comes to reading.
My Project
My students share my love of reading and I want next year's students to have access to the newest set of Sunshine State Readers. The Sunshine State Reader books consist of 15 titles that will challenge and engage young readers. Every year, students who read at least five titles are able to join a Battle of the Books team. Students who read all 15 are invited to lunch with an author during the month of April. I want my students to be able to reach this goal and have access to the titles right at their fingertips.
These 15 Sunshine State Readers will make a huge difference in my students lives.
My students set the goal of reading all 15 and I need your help to make that a possibility. This project will ensure my students become life-long readers.
