I teach forty-five amazing and diverse students. Our school is a Title I school and over 80 percent of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Even though many of my students have had to face difficulties in their lives at such an early age, they come to school eager and ready to learn! My students have shown tremendous growth this year in all subject areas and are working hard to continue to achieve and surpass their academic goals.
My Project
Each year, I encourage my students to challenge themselves by reading the Sunshine State Reader books. These books are selected because they are fun, engaging, and diverse in so many ways! It helps my students read a variety of different texts that will help them grow their love for reading! My students have always tried to push themselves to read all 15 of the Sunshine State Reader books to complete the challenge! However, these books are in high demand and our library only has several copies of each title. I would love to have a class set that my students have immediate access to and will help them challenge themselves into becoming amazing reader!
