This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year has been amazing, since we are welcoming students for in-person learning! My school is located in a low-income area. We focus heavily on emotionally responsive learning and building relationships with students to provide the best education possible.

My second grade students are compassionate, curious, and committed to their learning.

My school believes in teaching the whole child. Therefore, social-emotional well-being is a top priority along with academics! This is especially important during a year of perseverance and challenge brought by COVID-19.

I have never seen a group of students as motivated as mine. My class is hardworking and genuinely excited about learning every subject. My students are creative, thoughtful, and independent learners. I am so lucky to have them!

My Project

Summer is often a time where students take a break for learning. My scholars are eager to continue learning year round, but many of them do not have resources at home. It would mean a lot to my students to send them summer learning activities for time away from school.

Help keep my students engaged year round!

My students are enthusiastic about learning, and have so much excitement towards reading and writing. Providing my students with a summer book and writing journal will encourage progress throughout the summer months. Let's continue to prepare these students for future grades!
