Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We were told 1 hour before the day was over that we would not be returning back to the building until after Spring Break which was more than a week away. Our student left without getting the proper supplies to work from home. Since the pandemic began, we have had (2) fifteen minute opportunities to go back in the classroom to gather what we need to teach from home. Our students are now at home trying to work hard to continue their education with the materials they have at home. They are in need of basic materials to continue to learn.
My Project
Our students are at an unfortunate time where they need to learn from home. Even with technology and working with their teachers through video, students need to correct materials at home to help keep learning fun and interactive. Students using magnetic letter and boards to create words will keep them paying attention because it is fun! Using interactive journals will give the students an opportunity to practice writing and spelling words. It is really important that students continue to learn by having fun while they are learning. Keeping kids interested and using letter manipulatives, puzzle word families, etc keeps kids wanting to join teachers on the video chats.
