Mrs. Bonet from Dallas TX is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need e-books to help promote summer reading. We will also use these e-books during the school year to help bridge the gap of reading materials at home.

During summer students lose interest in reading, unless they have a reason to continue practicing. Having this e-book subscription will give them a way to carry our classroom routine into their summer vacation.
Having students that really do care about their education and that, in spite of their social-economic status, they pour themselves everyday into their learning.
My students need variety to keep them going strong. Exposure to good non-fiction and fiction books will promote a community of readers. Their fascination with computers can be used as an asset to motivate them to read more.
The goal is to get all students involved and interested in reading even when they are on vacation. The e-book subscription will be implemented in the classroom, but students will have access to this exciting resource during the summer. On hot Texas summer days it will also help promote reading in a fun way, while they are taking a break from school. Just about every kid likes computers, tablets and smartphones; so, utilizing this resource to maintain a reading routine during summer will be an ideal scenario.
It is a fact that in many instances when you don't practice a certain skill you lose it.
Reading is a skill that needs to be practiced everyday. Your donation to this project will improve the quality of my students' reading. You can help by giving them access to, electronic books to read at home with their parents during their breaks, and by stimulating their curiosity with the new titles that will be added to our library. Please, help us acquire this wonderful resource.
